How to Make Someone =)
Last Friday , we were pleased to have Elder Quek ( aka Sir Andrew, we prefer to call him this way ) with us to share on the topic " How to Make Someone Smile " .
It was rather a relaxed and joyful time and the message was simple yet meaningful . It serves as a very good reminder.
The very first question he posed was : " How do you make someone smile ? " , continued by " is it easier to make someone angry or someone smile ? " . Very simple questions but it made us ponder a lot and we often find ourselves trapped in between answers.
Sir Andrew shared with us a few points, to make someone smile, we actually have to have several qualities which we often forget at times.
To be able to make someone smile is a quality that comes from both our appearance and our inner self.
On one hand, we should pay attention to how we dress, how we converse , our personal hygiene and the passion we emanate.
On the other hand, we should cultivate positive characters and develop self esteem.
He concluded the session with Proverbs 4:23 .
our cheerful Elder Quek .

Do join us when we have interesting topics as such ! We are sure to keep you informed !

Cookin' Fun
On 21st of May 2010, Joy Fellowship had their first Cooking activity at sister Kai Yun's house.
We got together at about 6 plus and we started assembling our ingredients.
Among us there were one or two who was new in cooking, there were also a few of us who had experience in cooking.
This activity started out to be a competition. where it was girls v.s guys.
Each group had to prepare one dish of vegetables, one dish of meat and the last one is free style.
However, we decided to combine the two groups when we started cooking. ( thought our combined effort would produce a better meal ! XD )
Philip dicing his ingredients. You would see later that he is one of those quite experienced cook. =)
onions and ginger.
sister Jie ying slicing tomatoes.
while we were cooking, our mentors did what mentor Fong Yew did in the above picture.
( looking and making very sure that we don't sabotage their dinner ! )
see, this is what happens when we are curious of how it tastes like !!
no joke that he can cook !
one of the dishes prepared by us girls .. assembled nicely ! haha .
6 dishes in total for the night !
we had 1 soup, 1 egg, 1 vege and 3 dishes of chicken. O.O
we had chicken, egg and another chicken !

Credits to Mentor Kee Sern who bought this chicken ! Partly because he's too hungry , and i guess partly to save us just in case we couldn't prepare a good meal ! haha .
the soup . mix of vege, egg and tofu .

We had fun learning and cooking together. if you think it's fun by looking at this picture, do not miss our next cook-and-eat activity which happens to be a

we hope to see you there !!
